AppLocker restricts users to a specific set of applications by using AppLocker on Windows 10/11 desktops and laptops. AppLocker provides additional security for the computer so that software can only be installed and run in an appropriate manner that does not bypass the security framework native to Windows. AppLocker itself is a massively important piece of our security framework, as it helps to block malware from running even within a user context to perform malicious actions. We do understand that it can be a potentially frustrating hurdle in some circumstances, but it is definitely something that we are confident has prevented a large number of potential issues to campus computing.
