Brightspace allows you to select an image from their library of stock images for your course banner image, or you can upload your own image. The image selected for the course banner appears on the course homepage, My Courses widget, and the Brightspace Pulse app. We encourage you to choose an image that you prefer, and also to choose a different image for each course to minimize confusion between different sections of the same course.

When uploading an image file, its display size should be 2400 x 960 pixels and not contain any text for best results. Since Brightspace automatically crops the image to fit the size of the course banner, the course banner image itself will be 1170 x 200 pixels once uploading is complete. Your image must also be in .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .gif format.

Uploading an image of 2400 x 960 pixels is recommended to allow for the best appearance in the various places this image is used (the course homepage, My Courses widget, and the Brightspace Pulse app) so that they are resized properly in Brightspace and maintain the highest quality. You can change this banner at any time.

Here are a few websites that have copyright free images you can download to use within your course: Pexels, Freepik, Pixabay, Unsplash.
