When you log in to a Fredonia service that requires two-factor authentication, you will see the regular login screen.
Enter your eServices username and password and press the Sign in button.
If you have not yet registered a device to serve as the second factor in the required two-factor authentication process, you will be directed to this enrollment screen.
Follow instructions found at Getting Started with Two-Factor Authentication with Duo Security.
If you have already enrolled one or more devices, you will be directed to the Two-step Login window.
- Depending on the method that you want to use for authentication, if your device is not already selected, click on the Device drop-down arrow and select your device.
Authentication options include:
- Send Me a Push: this option is recommended for ease of use. Using this option results in a challenge being sent to your smartphone or tablet if you have installed the Duo Mobile application in your device.
- Call Me: a call is placed to the phone number you specified during enrollment.
- Enter a Passcode: this field can be used in concert with the Duo Mobile app or with a hardware token that provides a One Time Passcode (OTP).
Remembering a Device
If you check the Remember this device for 12 hours checkbox, you will not be prompted to provide second factor authentication only if you log in via the same computer and browser you are using when you check the box. For example, suppose you checked this box 12 hours ago when you logged in using Firefox on your laptop. When logging in from your laptop within the 12 hour period, you decide to use Internet Explorer. Because this browser does not match what was in use when you checked Remember this device for 12 hours, you will be prompted to authenticate again..
If you select this option, you will receive a prompt again when the 12 hour period expires.
IMPORTANT: Please do not select this option in public computers or devices that are not exclusively under your control.
