Business Services
Faculty, Staff, and Students may borrow equipment through the ITS Service Center. Faculty that wish to place equipment on reserve must consult with the ITS Service Center.  Priority for reserve requests will be provided to those that provide equipment for general checkout to Faculty, Staff, and Students.
Technical Services

The ITS Service Center utilizes Connect2 equipment checkout software for managing and tracking resources. The software provides an online portal for checking equipment availability, for making reservations, and for running reports on equipment usage.

Equipment will be examined by staff prior to being loaned to a patron and upon its return to ensure that it is in good working condition. When borrowing the equipment, the user accepts responsibility for returning it in the same condition as it was received.

Requirements

Faculty, Staff, and Students must be enrolled or employed at SUNY Fredonia.  When equipment is picked up, a valid FredCard must be presented to the ITS Service Center staff member.

Equipment assigned to specific courses requires that students are enrolled within a course and that the instructor has provided a list of students that are authorized to check out the equipment. Lists from Instructors must be provided 1 week prior to checkout.

Failure to pickup equipment within a half hour of requested time, will result in the equipment being loaned out to other patrons on a first-come, first-served basis.

The borrower must agree that the checked out equipment will be used exclusively for academic/course work and not for purposes of individual profit/gain or personal projects.

Do not leave the equipment in a car overnight, do not expose equipment to extreme conditions (heat or below freezing conditions), do not use equipment in the rain.  Never leave equipment unattended.

Users are responsible for returning all equipment by the due-date/time issued at the time of check out. Late and missing equipment will be reported immediately.  If equipment is not returned, University Police will be contacted. Lost, broken, or stolen equipment will be subject to replacement and processing costs.

Patrons should remove any files transferred to laptops or other electronic devices borrowed before the equipment is returned.  Any files left on returned equipment may be viewable to the next person that checks out the equipment.  The ITS Service Center will not backup files left on devices and may need to reformat electronic media as required.

Rates / Cost of Use

By borrowing the equipment, the borrower agrees to be financially responsible for lost or damaged equipment. Costs for repairing or replacing equipment will be determined by ITS Service Center staff.  Failure to pay for repair or replacement will result in the immediate suspension of borrowing privileges and a hold being placed on academic records.

Equipment requests for off campus groups using campus facilities will require a consultation, prior to a quote being provided for equipment rentals.
