Ally Course Report in FREDLearn
The Ally Course Report located within FREDLearn provides instructors with an overall course accessibility score and provides guidance on how to fix accessibility issues found within course documents. A course accessibility score of 85% or higher is the goal for each course in FREDLearn.
How to Access your Ally Course Report
Navigate to your course in FREDLearn.
From the Help menu, select Ally Course Report.

Fixing Low Scoring Content Items
We recommend users begin by remediating the 5 lowest scoring content items in each course in FREDLearn to help reach the goal of an 85% course accessibility score.
On the Ally Course Report overview page, navigate to the “Fix low scoring content” section and click Start.
Ally Course Report overview pageThis page provides a list of files in your course that are considered “low scoring content items”. These are items with an accessibility score of 33% or lower, indicated by a red dial. In this example course, 5 out of 99 content items with accessibility issues were considered low scoring.
List of low scoring content items found in a courseSelect a file from your list to begin. This will open your file in the viewer on the left, with its accessibility score and issues shown on the right. Select All Issues to see a full list of accessibility issues in the file.
Accessibility score of a file found with AllyYou will now see a list of accessibility issues found within your file. Ally also shows what your file’s accessibility score may improve to if a particular issue is fixed. Click on an issue to learn more on how to fix it, and to see exactly where the issue occurs inline within your file.

Note: Students cannot view the Ally Course Report. Only instructors have access to their individual Ally Course Reports.
How to Get Help Fixing Documents
If you are unsure how to adjust a document to improve the accessibility score, help is available in a variety of ways.
For any file type, upload your file to Sensus Access to create a more accessible PDF version of the document.
For PDFs, use Adobe Pro’s accessibility checker

When an article, or ebook is available through the university’s licensed library databases create a permalink and place this directly in the FREDLearn using the Link tool.
