I. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to define a procedure for the use of Certified New York State Minority/Women-Owned Business Enterprise.

II. Procedure

It is the policy of Fredonia to take affirmative action to ensure that Minority and Women-Owned Businesses (M/WBE) that are certified by New York State are given the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to provide the University with goods and services at competitive prices. When a department utilizes a New York State certified vendor, their account will be credited 10% of the total amount by the University. Departments need to note that the vendor is an M/WBE to insure that they receive that credit.
