How do I add a link to a website or YouTube video in OnCourse?

Step-by-step guide

  1. Log on to OnCourse and access the course you would like to add the link to.

  2. Locate the green gear icon on the upper right hand side of the page. The Gear icon is located on the upper right hand side of the page

  3. Select Turn editing on from the drop-down menu.    Click on the drop-down menu to the right of the gear icon and click on the Turn editing on link

  4. In the section where the link should be, click the Add an activity or resource link. Click on Add an activity or resource in the section of the course where you want to add the link

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the pop-up window and select URL.Scroll to the bottom of the pop-up window and choose URL
  6. Press Add.

  7. Enter a Name for your link in the "Name" field.

  8. Enter the link to the website or YouTube video in the "External URL" field.

  9. Press Save and return to course.


Hints:

  • If you would like to embed your YouTube video right on the page, follow these embed directions.

  • Your link or video will automatically open in a new window. If needed, you can change these settings using the Appearance section.
