Providing a wireless network for short term use for large groups of guests to the campus is as simple as submitting a FREDquest to the networking team and providing the following information:

  • The duration of the event including the start date/time and end date/time

  • What the network name should be. Make it meaningful to the attendees. For example, the Makers Faire network name was "Makers".

  • Supplying a wpa2-psk (password) that is 8-64 characters supplied to the users to connect to the network.

This network will be broadcast across campus within the academic and residential buildings.
