Short Term Wireless Networks on Campus

Providing a wireless network for short term use for large groups of guests to the campus is as simple as submitting a ticket to Tracker to the networking team and providing the following information:

  • The duration of the event including the start date/time and end date/time

  • What the network name should be. Make it meaningful to the attendees. For example, the Makers Faire network name was "Makers".

  • Supplying a wpa2-psk (password) that is 8-64 characters supplied to the users to connect to the network.

This network will be broadcast across campus within the academic and residential buildings. All network creations must be approved by the ITS department.
