CALL FORWARDING ON A NON – BUSINESS SET PHONE

Some campus phones have the feature to be able to forward the phone to another number. The number must be a local number. The caller will not be given your forwarding number and will not be aware that the call has been forwarded to another number. If you forward to a personal Google Voice number, you can use that application to change the forwarding number from a remote location, in the event that staff want to take turns monitoring a forwarded office phone number.

TO ACTIVATE:

Pick up the handset and listen for a dial tone.

Press *72, then wait for a second dial tone.

Dial 9+the number that calls will be forwarded to. (This must be a local # to Fredonia). You will hear a confirmation tone.

Hang up phone. Call Forwarding should be activated.

TO CANCEL:

Press *73

Wait for confirmation tone alerting you that Call Forwarding has been cancelled

Hang up phone. Call Forwarding has been deactivated.

If you have a Call Forward button, an arrow indicates forwarding is set up. Pressing the button will cancel the forwarding, even if the Call Forward button was not used to set up forwarding.

GOOGLE VOICE

The SUNY Fredonia Google Suite of applications does not include Google Voice, but you can set one up using a personal google account. When setting up GOogle Voice to use for forwarding, choose Silver Creek as your location.
