Drupal: START HERE to edit your department website
Learn how to use Drupal to edit and publish web pages.
Requirements
Drupal Web Publishers must attend a Drupal training.
Send requests for Drupal training to webteam@fredonia.edu.
At the Drupal training, Web Publishers are granted access to create and edit web pages for their department website.
To ensure that the campus website complies with state and federal accessibility requirements, Drupal Web Publishers must follow all campus web governance requirements:
Log into Drupal
Users who have received Drupal training may log into their website to make changes. In the bottom right of any Fredonia web page, a) click on the Logins menu, then b) click on Drupal Login.
Edit a Webpage
Create a New Draft of a page, save your changes, then publish them.
Drupal Layout & Editing Page Elements
Here are the major areas of the web page.
How to edit each part of a Drupal web page
A. Top Nav Menu: To request a change to the site-wide Top Nav Menu, send an email to webrequest@fredonia.edu.
B. Hero Image: To edit the Hero Photo image for your site, log into Drupal and edit the page. See: Drupal 8: Add a Hero Photo at the Top of a Web Page
C. Page Title: To edit the Page Title, log into Drupal and edit the Page Title field. See: Drupal: Edit a web page
D. Intro Text: To add or edit Intro Text, log into Drupal, edit the Intro Text section of the page. See: Drupal: Edit a web page
E. Site Navigation Menu: To add or edit an Site Menu, log into Drupal, and choose My Workbench > My Menus. Click the name of the menu to edit. See: Drupal: Edit a Site Menu (Left Navigation)
F. Page Content (Body): To add or edit the main content, log into Drupal and edit the Body section of the page. See: Drupal: Edit a web page
G. Office: To add or edit an Office, log into Drupal, and follow these steps to change the content of the Office. See: Drupal: Editing an Office block to update your department contacts & address info (Who to Contact)
H. Calls to Action (CTAs): To hide or show the CTA links block, see Drupal: Enable the Calls to Action (CTAs) block on a page
I. Footer: To request a change to the text or link that appears in the site-wide Footer, send an email to webrequest@fredonia.edu.
J. Logins menu: Click the Logins in the lower left of the page Footer to access Drupal tools. See: Drupal: Log into Drupal
W1, W2. Page Widgets: To add a page widget, see: Drupal: Add and Edit a Page Widget
Site Search Results: To request a change to the search results for a specific Fredonia page for a search term, send an email to webrequest@fredonia.edu with the details of the page and the change you want. The Web Team can make some minor adjustments to site search results.
Editing a Drupal Page:
These are the page editing fields available when a Drupal user clicks New Draft or Edit Draft.
