REASON FOR POLICY

Students must fully complete the registration process to be eligible for university services including housing, meals, electronic services and debit accounts. SUNY Fredonia is obligated to comply with State University of New York policies restricting university services to registered students.

POLICY STATEMENT

At the beginning of each semester, all students are able to live in the residence halls and use their meal plans prior to confirmation of completed registration.  It is the policy of SUNY Fredonia that confirmation of completed registration will occur at the end of the first week of classes, as follows:

  • FSA will compile a list of students that are not registered but are utilizing meal plans and/or debit accounts

  • Student Accounts will identify and compile a list of  students  who are not registered but are living in the residence halls

  • Student Accounts will send all students on the list a letter notifying them that they need to be registered by the end of the second week of classes or their meal plan, debit account and electronic services will be suspended

    • On-campus students will receive their letter from the Office of Residence Life

    • Off-campus students will receive their letter via US mail

  • Student Accounts will notify FSA, Residence Life and IT of accounts that need to have services suspended on the day after the second week of classes ends

  • Students must complete the registration process and satisfy outstanding accounts to reinstate services

  • Student Accounts will notify FSA, Residence Life and IT to reactivate services once students are registered

  • Students who fail to register for courses by the end of the third week of classes will have their meal plans, electronic services and debit accounts revoked. On-campus students who fail to register for courses by the end of the third week of classes will be required to remove themselves and their belongings from the dormitories
